About Marla Jollie

Marla Jollie grew up in a small town in West Virginia. Living a quaint life and wholesome upbringing in a large family, Marla developed from an early age a sensitivity to other’s needs and a vision of true, pure beauty. The gift of creation and design has been passed down from her mother, Kay. Both Marla and Kay have the gift of simple creation, which means they can take something very ordinary and make it extraordinary.

After graduating from Kent State University in 1992 with a BFA in Graphic Design, Marla continued her career in the design arena working in the marketing and printing industry. With over sixteen years of experience in graphic design and print media, Marla has a working knowledge of the design and printing industry.

Marla started creating handcrafted wedding invitation for friends getting married as a gift for the lucky couple. Everyone that saw the invitations raved over the original and creative personality of each invitation and others getting married began wanting Marla to craft their invites. Soon after, the invitations became a huge hit with more and more custom invitation designs in demand for clients that sought elegant and classy design for their ultimate occasion. As many of Marla’s styles have been simulated by other custom invitation designers, she continues to create new trends and styles for the industry. She has excelled in all aspects of the design and handcrafting of the invitations. Marla leans to wholesomeness of nature to inspire and direct many of her ideas and she works miracles with the resources of handcrafted fine papers and embellishments. She is a true visionary in these mediums.

Marla is a wholesome, well balanced and honorable woman. She is always honest and she always goes to major extents to please her divine customers. Within a few minutes, Marla can feel your excitement for the event and she understands your style as you convey your wishes to her. She has a knack for creating beauty, the way you want it and find most pleasing. Her trustworthy and down-to-earth style makes friends quickly and she has a genuine love of people and their special occasions. To Marla, she says, “she always has an occasion to look forward too”. What could be better than to look forward to happy times? She knows a special moment will be cherished forever by the lucky couple, their families and friends.

Each occasion, whether a wedding, birth, or themed party is a unique and special event for those involved and Marla strives to create the very essence of the occasion by producing original, handcrafted elegance and document, all at the same time. Marla currently resides in the Durham area with her loving husband, Chris and their young son.
